Little Boy – Wabedo Summary 

July 14, 2007

 I wasn’t there so you can’t blame me.  Little Boy has come and gone and it appears Mark Munson put a big hurt on the field, beating out second place by nearly 2 pounds, and weighed in a bag at 17-5.  You’re just lucky I wasn’t there, Mark.  Mister black and blue jig went to brown and purple (UGH!) to catch about 20 keepers in the reeds on both sides of the camp on Little Boy.  The AM bite was definitely better than the PM bite.  And by the way, Mark managed to shut out his bunky, Checkbook, for the day.  Mark also had the tourney lunker of 3-14.  On a much different note, both second and third came from the same boat.  Adam Henkensiefken took second with a bag weighing 15-7, narrowly edging his partner, Curt Compton, whose bag went 15-6, and finished third.  Apparently they were the ONLY boat to start in Wabedo and both were filled within an hour working deep and had early bags in the 10-11 pound area.  They kept pounding the breaks and slowly upgraded.  The only shallow fish they kept were two reed fish and one dock fish.  They each caught 15-20 keepers and all but a few were weedline fish.  Adam threw Senkos all day and Curt mostly threw a lizard.  It appears to have been a decent tournament with 10 bags over twelve pounds.

                                                 SHORTS

I nearly forgot about a potential dolt sighting.  Apparently on Platte Lake Charlie was running with about 16 inches of his lower unit in the water (his outboard you morons) when he crossed a rock point that was 14 inches from the surface creating a great deal of character to his prop. 

Big bass update – The pot will be $600 on Rabbit Lake with the following having paid me so far:  Adam H, both Becks, both Johansons, Dennis , Ludenia, Munson, Mowers, Bailey, Swanny. And Ruff.  Some of you others were paid thru 2006 and can still jump in for $30.  The rest of you will need to pony up $45. 

A blond pushes her BMW into a gas station.  She tells the mechanic that it died.  After he works on it for a while it is idling smoothly.  She asks, “What’s the story?”  He replies, “Just crap in the carbureter.”  She asks, “How often do I have to do that?”
