In observance of Lincoln's birthday this coming Monday, (Feb.12), the GALS Club will have a special meeting. To honor this great past President, we are going to roll pennies. The festivities will begin at 5:00pm at Nikki's apt. Everybody is invited. BYOP
Shannon and his girlfriend decided to go driving around (for the warmth) after they lost their electricity from last weekends' ice storm. As luck would have it, the radio announced a store that had kerosene heaters, and they were less than a block away. They managed to beat the hordes and stake claim on one, but neither had means to pay. So Shannon literally *sat on it* while his girlfriend went to get the checkbook. (Don't leave home without it.)
Remmy paid us a visit during his 72 hour pass. He told us about burning the 'caine fields down in South America. And we tried to explain to him about the X,Y and Z chromosomes. He just shook his head, for he may be a Marine Reconnaissance man, he wasn't prepared for *that*! (I'd like to hear what he tells the other guys when he gets back, wouldn't you?)
And speaking of sea farers...
Zero One tells us he likes to pretend he's back on the submarine he called home for several months. To do this, he simply covers his windows with black construction paper. Voila!...that confined feeling. (We suggest he take it a step further---don drab green woolies and sleep in an undersized bunk that is 5 feet off of the floor.)
Nikki is becoming displeased with her second job. She's not making the kind of money she is accustomed to. And to reinforce her feelings about the place, she says... "I've only been there for 2 months, and allready *I* have seniority over the others!" (Maybe they'll present her with a gold watch.)
Pup (the puffer fish) has been keeping us entertained for many years at our favorite Chinese restaurant. When the pump on the salt-water aquarium quit the other day, he was one of the casualities. We will sorely miss you, Pup.
Kris thinks the daily paper has a new writer for the crossword puzzle. She says in the last few weeks, it's taken her a tad bit longer to finish them. Also, they aren't using the same clues and words that they used to. (Hmmm...Now that you mention it...)

EVERYDAY LATIN-----
As if every newspaper ad and store display aren't enough...I want to remind you to go to the pharmacy and get your sweetheart a Valentine. Don't you think they deserve it?
Your President,
