Can someone please explain to me why it is when a person gets a sunburn, others feel like they have to poke you? Yeah, yeah, yeah...to see the white spot their finger leaves, as if this is really an indication of how burnt you are. A person could bruise, y'know? Too bad job applications don't ask yer color, for it would be fun to put "Red, with purple dots."
Mindy has taken on a babysitting job while her friend is in Florida. A Pink Belly Swift. She likes to put the reptile on her thigh and take it for a walk. On one of these jaunts she ran into another friend who wanted to *wear* it on her shoulder. It threw up. She's hoping her regular brand of detergent will get out that little spot of lizard puke.
Nikki likes the view from her condo better these days. A good neighbor took it upon himself to tear down the kudzu that draped the trees behind her place. Which prompted the Property Owners Association to take action and clean out the underbrush. Now she can sit on her deck and clearly see the happenings on the lake. Which is only about 50 feet away.
Eddie, as usual, gulped down his drink, paid his tab and ran out the door when someone told him his cab was waiting. That night he had to share the ride with two other guys who were slated to be delivered before him. Okay, he thought. An hour later the cabbie stopped at a place on the other side of the next town and said "Here we are." No, no, no. That was not where he lives. It was then he realized he'd jumped into the wrong cab. It was also then that he realized he hadn't called a cab in the first place!
Jen went to a place where they do body piercings. This day the target was her belly button. So the guy pulls the skin out to punch the stud through. Only he misses and causes a tear. So he tries a second time, using the first starter hole. This time he goes too deep. She decided to just forget it, at least until it heals and she can withstand the pain again.

JUST HOW DID APRIL FOOLS GET THEIR OWN DAY?-----
___Also known as All Fools' Day, it's thought by some historians to have begun in France. There, the old New Year's festival was observed from March 25 to April 1 and ended with an exchange of gifts.
___In the mid-1560s, King Charles IX changed New Year's to Jan. 1. People who still celebrated the New Year in April were called *poisson d'Avril* (April fish) and were sent mock presents. The reference to fish is because newly spawned fish are naive and easily caught.
___Another theory is that All Fools' Day is a relic of the Roman Cerealia, held at the beginning of April to honor Ceres, goddess of agriculture.
___It seems that Ceres' daughter, Prosperina, was carried off by Pluto, king of Hades, and when Ceres heard the echo of her screams, she followed the echo - a fool's errand.
___It's now a favorite joke on April 1 to send someone on a fool's errand - a search for something that doesn't exist.
___In the United States, the hapless victim is called an April fool.
I like to wait a couple of weeks to pull these jokes. Why not? It's still April ain't it?
