Welcome to Storybook Farm

The bucolic northwest
hills of Connecticut are the perfect location for Storybook Farm. Prize
winning suri and silky fleeced llamas have been the
main focus of the farm, but we've added to the farm's direction.
Storybook Farm is
focused on the preservation of heritage breeds of livestock by adding them to
the farm menagerie. We've joined The New England Livestock Alliance and
the Heritage Breeds Conservancy work to save these breeds of livestock from
extinction. Our beautiful
Dominique chickens are free-ranged and are
producing fabulous large brown eggs which we offer for sale. In the near
future Belted Galloway cattle, fondly referred to as "Oreo cookie cows" will be
raised for fresh grass-fed beef.
We are proud to have
been awarded an NRCS grant for a high tunnel to be used to extend our growing
season. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to be able to offer fresh,
organically grown heirloom varieties of vegetables and fruits earlier in the
summer and well into the fall season. We continue to offer heirloom
varieties of Baldwin and MacIntosh apples, as well as heirloom varieties of
pears that are available in early October. We've planted blueberries and
raspberries for future picking. Jams and jellies made from the farm's
fruits and vegetables are offered for sale.
Even more exciting is
the fact our own honeybees are now pollinating our fruits and vegetables!
We expect to generate honey for sale this year too and are looking forward to
offering it to those interested in the health benefits of local honey.
All natural
homemade
soaps are available for sale at the farm. We've got soaps scented to relax
you, invigorate you, and even soaps to keep bugs at bay. If you are a
hunter and look to mask your scent, try our Hunter's Soap. The hunters in
our family love it!
If you are looking for
a unique gift, Storybook Farm offers gift baskets
of jams and jellies, handmade soaps, and honey.
Choose your own unique combination and your unique gift will be created for you!
Check back often to see
