Who are we?

We are an informal group that meets weekly on Tuesday nights, at Tyche's Games in Athens, Georgia, to enjoy playing games and each other's company.  Our meetings do not have much organization and there is no formal membership.  We are happy to welcome anyone and everyone who wants to have fun, play some games, and relax.  We are not a competitive bunch and play for the enjoyment and social interaction of the games.

What games do we play?

The board and card games we play are generally referred to as "Eurogames".  They are also sometimes called "designer board games" or "German games".  They are games that feature simple and easily digested rules but have interesting strategies.  They are also usually marked by colorful themes and very high quality components.  Almost all of them are designed to be played by people aged twelve and up and can be played to completion in under two hours, with an average playing time of one hour or so.  They are often referred to as "German games" because many of them are imported from Germany.  The components, however,  are almost always language neutral, so there is no need to understand German in order to play. There is also no need to be worried about knowing the rules in advance, since we always go over the rules before each game.

How can someone join us for an evening?

If you are interested in joining us for an evening, simply drop by the store for one of our Tuesday night meetings!  If you know of a game you are interested in, e-mail us and we will look through our collections and see if we can provide it for your visit.  You can view my personal collection on the BoardgameGeek under the username kevtor.
