I reset the router for the BBS and it connected again, but don't count on it staying connected until AT&T fixes the line. Fortunately I also have cable Internet to post this, however they block the protocols required to let me hook the BBS up to it. Saturday 2:35 PM, 11-08-08. I gave AT&T another call and Megan told me they have put a trouble ticket in. The repair person is scheduled to show up "sometime" tomorrow, on Sunday. I live about 3/4 of a mile from their main building downtown and for the number of times I've had them here to fix the lines, it would be cheaper for them just to string a brand new wire from the box on the side of my house back to their building, than to keep drying and gluing, or duct-taping, or whatever half-assed fixes they keep performing. Sunday 3:00 PM, 11-09-08. A field tech for AT&T showed up this afternoon and fixed the DSL/phone lime problem. Squirrels chewed through the insulation and let water into the cabling. There is an old 3 - pole stretch of phone line from my house to the point where the AT&T lines go to the sewer system. It runs the length of the block between properties facing one street and properties facing another street. The tech said she will put in a rehabilitation request where they replace all the wiring (hopefully with something more rodent-proof). - Kevin Castle Rock BBS is located in Janesville, Wisconsin, USA. e-mail link
