Napoleon Bonaparte, military leader, is born on Earth. Trelane, the
Squire of Gothos, will admire Napoleon claiming to have viewed his
campaigns through a viewing scope as they occurred on Earth. Garth
of Izar will brag about Napoleon's failure, and Lt. McGivers will compare
Khan Noonian Singh to Napoleon (in addition to having a painting of
Napoleon hanging in her quarters). The computer-generated clown from
the Delta Quadrant's hibernation pods will refer to Napoleon's
defeat at Waterloo. Napoleon's passive lure strategem will be
comparable to that developed by the Menthars [SG, WGD, SS, V 139,
TNG 154].

The Chez Sandrine a Marseilles tavern is founded in France. In the
24th Century, it will be a favorite of Tom Paris [V 106].

According to one account, the Preservers transplant North American
plains Indians from Earth to Miramanee (Amerind) as late as this era
[PSy, GN 18].

In the Gamma Quadrant, the planet Meridian dimensionally shifts back into
normal space for a brief period of time [DSN 454].

On Earth, Jean Lafitte's antique swords are forged during this period
[TCT #2].

The Cherokee's long march called The Trail of Tears occurs on Earth
[V #6].

1772
The Bajoran wormhole again undergoes subspace inversion [DSN 476].

1773
Seth Starrett is born on Earth in America [DoH #1].

1775
A sextant is constructed during this era which will be given to Kathryn
Janeway as a child by her grandfather in the 24th Century [V 204].

In the Delta Quadrant, the Central Octagon is built or updated on the
capital world of the Lhiaarian Empire. Possibly this is the era of
the empire's dawn [V #16].

1776
Jeremiah Coverman marries Amy in America on Earth [DoH #1].

1777
During the American Revolutionary War, the H.M.S. "Justina" battles the
American ship "Chincoteague" and is captured by American patriots.
Sergeant Alexander "Sandy" Leonfeld and his surviving crewmates help to
take back the "Justina." Leonfeld is an ancient ancestor of Alexander
Rozhenko and he and Captain Picard will re-live this historic adventure
in a holodeck aboard the "Enterprise" based upon Leonfeld's journal
[DoH #1].

The first "Enterprise," a sea-going 12-gunned sloop, is burned in order to
avoid capture [GN 3].

1778
Kavis Alpha, a neutron star, explodes [TNG 150].

On Omega IV it is the Year of the Red Bird (plus or minus 5 years) [OG].

The Nexus temporal energy ribbon again passes through our galaxy [ST VII].

1786
Davy Crockett, American frontiersmen, is born on Earth. In 1836 he
will die defending the Alamo. Crockett will be a popular name given
to starships, especially scout vessels. In 2375 he will be a character
in Chief Obrien's and Dr. Bashir's Alamo holosuite program. Dr. Bashir
will later give Chief O'Brien a copy of Crockett's biography [DSN 557,
DSN 570, FRS, SFB, DSN 563].

1787, 12 April [reference stardate -3/8704.12]
Vaonus of Calanista postulates that Remus is inhabitable, heralding in
the Age of Discovery on Romulus. Although legends existed of life on
other planets, this is the first time scientific evidence is presented
to support the legends and theories [FASA].

17 September
The Constitution of the United States is ratified by a convention of the
States on Earth. A duplicate of this document will inexplicably appear on
Omega IV [OG, TCT #4].

1788, 22 January
Lord (George Gordon Noel) Byron is born in England on Earth. A poet,
he will be re-created on the "Voyager's" holodeck in 2373 by the
ship's holographic doctor as part of a personality improvement
program [V 161].

1789
George Washington enters office as the first president of the
United States of America, on Earth. It will be just one of many
facts downloaded from the "Enterprise's" library computer history
banks by the Talosians in 2248. In 2366, Kyril Finn will refer to
Washington's campaign as justification for his own terrorist
tactics on Rutia IV [Me].

28 April
The British sea-going ship "Bounty" becomes known for a crew mutiny
waged against Captain Bligh. In the 23rd Century, Dr. McCoy will rename
the captured Klingon Bird of Prey scout in honor of this vessel. In 2372,
Captain Janeway considers her situation in orbit of Ryolanov to be
potentially similar to 'Mutiny on the Bounty.' Lt. Paris will compare
Annorax to the tyrannical Captain Bligh in 2374 [ST IV, V #13, V 177].

On Omega IV it is the Year of the Red Bird (plus or minus 5 years) [OG].

1791
William Blake writes 'The Tyger,' a poem Spock will be forced to partially
recite by Charles Evans in 2260 [CX].

The first United States naval commission goes to Captain Yeaton, the
master of a revenue cutter. A fact that will be noted by First Officer
Gabriel Bush of the U.S.S. "Bozeman" in 2278 [GN 29].

1792, 24 December [reference stardate -3/9212.24]
L'Tokus of Dinalla successfully launches a large, payload-carrying
rocket into Romulus' upper atmosphere. Previously, rockets, though
used in celebrations, rarely had been used militarily [FASA].

1793, 21 June [reference stardate -3/9306.21]
Timuraasz places the first payload into orbit around Romulus [FASA].

1795
The English poet John Keats is born on Earth. He will write 'Ode to
Psyche' and in the 24th Century Commander Riker will receive a copy from
Counselor Troi. Keats' poetry, and ultimately his death, will be Onaya's
doing [TNG 214, DSN 493].

Dinalla puts the first Romulan in orbit [FASA].
