The U.S.S. "Yardley" travels to Axanar and suffers several casualties
among its contact party. As a result, the planet will be interdicted
under the Non-Interference Directive [FASA].

In the Gamma Quadrant, the inhabitants of a world in the Teplan
system defy the Jem'Hadar. The Dominion attacks their world and
contaminates it with a perpetual plague called The Quickening.
A self-powered distress beacon is activated which will remain in service
for over two centuries [DSN 495].

A new class of nebula is discovered during this era. It will be another
200 years until it happens again with the Tenebrous Cluster in the
Delta Quadrant, according to Ensign Kim [SNW].

The Vulcan Outreach period ends [MRM].

During this era, a "lucky Loonie" Canadian coin falls under the
possession of the Eddington family [DSN 521].

In the Delta Quadrant, the warlord Tieran rules the planet Ilari.
During wartime, he brings stability to his people and searches for
a means to overcome death--which he eventually manages to achieve
[V 152].

On Bajor, a cottage is built in the Rosila Province with a spectacular
view of the Holona River. In 200 years it will belong to a friend
of Major Kira [DSN 501].

Rantura Shipping Lines is founded in New Daran, Deneva by Esaha
Rantura, a second-generation Denevan, as a shuttle service between
Deneva and Colony V. Within a single generation, Rantura Shipping
will expand to handle over 80% of the passenger as well as cargo
transport needs of both worlds. An agreement with Chiokis Starship
Construction within the next few months will further advance Rantura's
prospects by giving Rantura exclusive shipping rights to and from
Chiokis corporate facilities throughout dozens of planetary
systems. Rantura will suffer a disasterous setback when flying
parasites from Ingraham B nearly decimate Deneva, losing many key
personnel [FASA].

On Zondar, tectonic shifts cause a territorial dispute when land slides
into the ocean [NF #5].

In an area just beyond the Bajoran system, the Mist locates three
uninhabited systems and phase-shifts them over and begins colonizing
them [TCT #3].

In an alternate timeline, the "Defiant" is displaced back to this
year from 2373 while trying to depart Gaia. The starship crashes
and the crew found a settlement which will total nearly 8,000 people
in 200 years. Major Kira dies a few weeks after the crash. Lt. Worf
later marries Dax [DSN 520].

The "Montcalm" and "Meridio" space cruisers are built, two variations
on the S.S. "Aurora" class [ACP].

Progenia is eradicted [V 175].

Dohlman Wywras reigns on Elas [TOS #68].

Gamma Spica is saved by the U.S.S. "Bellweather," a "Placido" class
ship, by neutralizing a quake's fault line via shipboard lasers [SFC].

The "Castor" class 100-man cruiser enters service [SFC].

On Omega IV it is the Year of the Red Bird (plus or minus 5 years) [OG].

War begins. Note that primitive Romulan strategic warp engines still
cannot be used in tactical combat--a significant disadvantage. Equipment

Annorax of the Krenim Imperium (Delta Quadrant) embarks on his quest to
restore the Imperium to its greatness through temporal incursions.

The first interstellar liners, the "Declaration" class, begin service
between major U.F.P. members. With the blossoming travel demand, 957 of
these ships will be commissioned. Each ship carries a complement of 950,
has warp 3.2 capacity, and advanced 2nd generation (Cosmodyne Corp.) warp
drive using 10:1 matter-antimatter fuel. This will be the first class to
be equipped with subspace radio and the most popular carrier of its time,
at least partially due to stringent maintenance and upgrade scheduling
imposed by the Commercial Spaceflight Agency. At least 28 of these
ships will see service [SFC, STD2].

According to some acounts, one "Declaration" class starliner was named
I.B.S. "Enterprise" and over her first hundred years of service she will
have 16 engine performance upgrades and 8 complete stateroom refits
[SFC, GN 3, STD2].

In the "Mirror" universe, the first interstellar liners, the "Quantum"
class, are launched. The first of these is the "Enterprise" [TBoT #14].

Baxter Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is founded in Chicago, Terra. It will
become a leader in manufacturing biomedical adaptive compounds and
will develop the first workable, mass-produced serum to combat
Rigellian blood-burn fever [FASA].

During this era, the U.S.S. "Texas" (NCC-900) old light cruiser (CL)
class enters service. An armored, sublight vessel it will be
refitted with modern technology (shields, tactical warp drive,
photon torpedoes, and phasers) within the next century. Some of
these ships (perhaps 4) will be converted to commando cruisers.
Other old-style light cruisers (perhaps as many as 20) with be
preserved in a "mothball" reserve fleet. Others will be scrapped
while others will be reactivated to replace losses. At least 6 of
these reserve ships will still be intact as late as 2280 and may
furnish conversions. The new light cruiser will replace the old
light cruiser in the future [SFB].
