You will have eight book reports
this year. You are required to do two written reports, two oral reports, two
project reports, and two Accelerated Reader reports. The dates that each is
due are listed below.
You need to choose a fiction, biographical, or autobiographical book of at
least 150 pages at your reading level. It must be approved ahead of time by
me. You may not use a book you have read previously or one that has been
turned into a movie. You may turn in any book report ahead of time; since I
am providing the dates this early, I will not accept any late book reports.

Written Book Reports
--The written book reports will follow a special format , which will be
handed out and explained in class, or you can click on
Written Book Report to get a copy of
the form. It may be turned in ahead of time.
Oral Book Reports --You may not do an oral book report on a book you have
already used for a written book report. The oral reports will be presented
to the whole class. You may do the oral book report before the due date
(which is highly recommended). Click on
Oral Report
for
instructions and assessment criteria.
Project Book Reports --These are fun book reports, which offer a variety of
ways to creatively tell about your book. You may not do the same thing for
the second project that you did for the first. You will give a short (less
than 2 minutes) oral presentation to explain how how you made your project
and how it tells or shows about your book. Click on Project Report
for the options for this type of book report and for how it will be
assessed.
Accelerated Reader Book Report --Make sure to pick a book that is on the
Accelerated Reader list. Finish the book and take the test on the computer
as soon as you can. You will receive the grade on the book report that you
get on the test. The tests assess literal comprehension, so make sure you
understand what you read.
