In addition to ongoing
research practice throughout the year, each student will do four research
projects this year. You will find a brief description in the paragraphs
below. Click on the links to go to detailed descriptions of each project.
Explorer Brochure
--Research a European explorer of the New World and prepare a brochure
describing his life and accomplishments.
Colony
Poster --Find out about one of the 13 original colonies. Create a
poster persuading immigrants from Europe to settle in your colony.
Science Fair
--Use the scientific method to investigate a question. This is a large
project that will take several weeks to complete.
Westward
Expansion Report --Pick an event or a person out of the Westward
Expansion era of our history. Prepare a report and give an oral
presentation "Chatauqua" style.
