What is nutrition therapy?

Initial Session

The first session is generally an hour long. Fees are negotiable.

What do we do the first session?

A detailed analysis of your health history, fitness and activity levels, daily schedule, food likes and dislikes, allergies, medications/food interactions, special diets and chronic disease conditions is conducted. You will be asked to fill out a pre-visit intake form and a 3 day food diary prior to initial appointment. These will be mailed to you.

Follow-up Session

From the information obtained in the first consultation, Kathryn will develop a specific and personalized nutrition/supplement plan to help you meet your personal health goals established by you and your health care team. At the second appointment, your personal plan will be discussed, explained and finalized. Included in your follow-up session you will receive an analysis of your current diet along with information and resources to assist you in making long-term, attainable lifestyle changes.

Further Follow-ups

Greater success is found when the client is followed by a nurtritionist (RD) over a period of time. During these follow-up sessions, your nutrition plan will be re-evaluated and fine tuned. It will be updated according to continued emerging scientific knowledge on nutrients, supplements, herbs, medicine and menu plans.

Insurance

Many private insurances reimburse. Talk to your insurance company and see what they reimburse and what they require for reimbursement as far as paperwork is concerned. While I take a number of insurances, there are hundreds of plans and it is the clients responsibility to know what is covered and what isn't. If there are questions, have your insurance company forward their inquiries directly to me at 989-725-8603. You will find I am very flexible with my personal goal to meet the needs of my community at large.
