Each student is responsible for keeping up with lab assignments. Students will not be excused from work that was assigned
during an absence. Make up labs are due 5 days after the student returns, unless there are unusual circumstances. Some labs
cannot be made up after school hours due to their length or at home because of the materials needed. When after school and
at home labs are not practical the teacher will assign a makeup lab report. Makeup lab reports are at the teacher’s discretion
and must have prior approval that can be obtained in person or by email for those who may have an extended absence.

The science student will research a current topic that addresses new technology, information, or applications related their class.
For this assignment, current is considered to be less than 12 months old. Sources can be magazines, newspapers, brochures,
TV, interviews, and the Internet. The student will have a cover page with title, name, date and class name (Chemistry For The
Technologies or Physics For The Technologies). The format of the report should be as follows:
Format: Times New Roman
Font: 12
Double spaced
Black ink

In addition to covering the topic, the report should discuss problems or solutions that could occur due to the subject, and the
students’ personal ideas about the topic should be included. The specific source of the information must be given. Students
must use a computer to compose their report. The report should be two to three pages long.
