INTRODUCTION Welcome to the Chemisty Careers WebQuest! This Internet activity is designed to help you learn more about careers in the field of chemisty. There are literally hundreds of jobs that require a background in chemistry and the sciences. You will look at one particular job, then describe it in a poster or booklet. You will accomplish this through use of the Internet and other hard copy resources. Good luck and enjoy learning about chemistry careers! |
TASK Your task is to create a poster describing one career that requires a background in chemistry (these will be displayed in the hallway by our rooms). Use this WebQuest to help you gather information and assist you in completing your task. Good luck! Your poster should be completed on a regular-sized poster board. It should be neat, readable and informative. Your poster must contain at least each of the following items. 1. The Job Title. 2. A description of the career. What does a person in this career do? Where might he/she work? How demanding is the job (long hours, lots of travel, etc.)? 3. The educational requirements for this career. Does this career require college or technical school? If so, how long will it take to get the required degrees? What types of course are required? Are there ways to begin developing skills prior to high school graduation (i.e., summer camps, internships)? 4. The salary range for this career. 5. Pictures (of the job in action or other applicable photos/graphics) |
