After one year of asking for donations to support my college education on this website, I have not received any money, but rather, some notes from people with interesting comments. Good luck to all of you who have school loans. May we all win the lottery! |

I am off to Jamaica and then to London to continue my education and achieve a M.A. in International Service through the International Partnership for Service-Learning. I have learned in the 23 years of my life that the best remedy for success is happiness, ambition, and responsibility (which aren't necessarily mutually exclusive). Never have I expected people to help finance my education out of charity, but rather, I have expected myself to give to others. Whether it is money, food, a house to share, time, compassion, supplies...we need to build up this world with the resources that we do have. To resign a life to listlessness and indifference is to throw away the key to a rewarding personal life and a more unified world. With integrity, you and I can affect many people's futures and their present conditions. There is a lot that we can do - the local church needs you to teach Sunday school, the animal shelter needs you to walk their many dogs, the Red Cross needs your blood to save others' lives (maybe even your own child's). The servant Jesus Christ was poor but wise and strove daily to rid people of their ailings. Afterall, what is our purpose, why are we here? God bless. |
