CLUB MEETING AND ANNUAL ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The Valley R/C Flyers held their quarterly club meeting and annual election of club officers on Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the Allen Frazier Flying Field. The slate of club officers for the 2003-2004 year are as follows: President - Ken Brown, Vice President - Jason Ray, Treasurer - Howard Keney, Secretary - Lenny Bateman, Safety Officers - Mike Senkbeil and Ricky Scarbrough. Following the meeting, clubmembers enjoyed a chicken dinner with food from KFC. Click Here for photos from that event.

PROPOSED SHED ENCLOSURE AT FLYING FIELD

Clubmember David Vaughn has drawn up a plan for enclosing a portion of our shed at the flying field.  This enclosure will afford us some protection against wind and cold during winter flying, as well as giving us the potential for use as a concession / transmitter impound during future flying events.

NEW PLANES
Jason Ray's beautiful Great Planes "Patty Wagstaff" 1/4 scale Extra 300. This plane is powered by a Fuji 50 gas engine and controlled by a Futaba 9CAP computer radio. Jason has just installed a smoke system and puts on quite a show!

Larry Still with his new Great Planes U-Can-Do 3D. This plane is powered by a Saito 80 Four Stroke.

Not exactly a new plane, but newly re-covered. Ken Brown with his Ultra Hots powered by a 42cc Quadra gas engine.

NOTE OF THANKS
The Valley R/C Flyers would like to thank fellow clubmember Steve Perryman and Boy Scout Troop 9 for the generous donation of a Hobbico Superstar 40 trainer and 3 gallons of fuel. Steve is a scoutmaster with Troop 9. This plane is one of seven that the scouts purchased while working toward their aviation merit badges. Having a Club Trainer should help get more people interested in trying our hobby, Thanks, Steve!

ALLEN FRAZIER FLYING FIELD FLOODED!
Our club's Vice President, Bill Lacy, took these great aerial photos of our flying field after the recent flooding.

Recent heavy rains caused flooding through out the Valley area. Below are pictures of our flying field courtesy of Renee and Annie Pike. Maybe we could have a float-fly!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
The Valley R/C Flyers would like to congratulate fellow club member Mike Senkbeil and his lovely wife Kathy on the recent birth of their new son. We sincerely hope the baby is healthy, happy, and looks like his mother!

The Valley R/C Flyers welcomes a new member to the club. Glenn Kersey from LaGrange, GA  just joined our ranks. Welcome to the club, Glenn!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Club Treasurer Howard Keney celebrated his birthday Sunday, March 23rd. His lovely wife and daughter surprised him with a birthday cake at the field. Happy Birthday, Old Man!

Safety Benches
Club member Larry Still built 5 more safety benches for the club. He pre-cut all the necessary lumber, brought it all to the field and assembled the benches with the help of fellow club-members Howard Keney and Ken Brown. This gives us a total of 6 benches. Larry built these safety benches from plans in the August issue of AMA's Model Aviation magazine. Great job Larry!
