What's New

For the most up-to-date information on our rescue, please check our Petfinder page at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/WI80.html or join us as a friend on our MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/wisconsinguineapigrescue!

We currently have a waiting list of Shelter guinea pigs that would like to enter our rescue, so we are definitely unable to accept surrenders from private parties at this time.

If you are looking for a home for your guinea pig, check with your local newspaper; they usually have a "Pet Adoption" section that costs about $16 for 10 days. Try placing an ad. Also try putting up signs in the vet clinics in your area. Ask for an adoption fee such as $15 so that you don't attract someone looking for food for their snake. Please be sure you aren't placing a guinea pig into a breeding situation. Lastly, try not to place your pig in a classroom except as a last resort, or unless the teacher is adopting the pig as their own pet. Otherwise, at the end of the year, the pig has nowhere to go, and guess who gets a phone call?
