ABOUT THE ARTIST

Linda Anderson, a realist artist, is a native Texan. Linda now resides in North Carolina where she moved here in 1985.  She began her professional career in Native American Art in the late 1960's. Some of her early works were purchased by the Colorado Museum of Natural History. Her mother, Delsenia Standley was an artist, one might say art is in her blood.

Linda AndersonIn 1990 Mrs. Anderson was commissioned to paint an oil painting of author John Steinbeck's home in California . Her original oil is hanging in the home of  Thomas Steinbeck, son of John Steinbeck, one of the world's most read authors.

Linda does portraits of people, capturing the realism and personality of her subjects. Her work is now in private collections from coast to coast. She is a  animal lover and many of her works have an animal theme to them.  Over the year she has painted more paintings of people and their pets than she can count.

Linda has mastered the mediums of oil, pastel, charcoal, graphite, acrylic and watercolor. Her versatility is unmatched in her ability to paint portraits, pet portraits, still life and landscaping.

In 1995, Linda was commissioned to paint Mr. Mombo - a world famous race horse owned by Country Western singer Buck Paige of the "Riders of the Purple Sage".

In 1997, Linda was commissioned to paint Jimmie Rodgers, the Father of country music who is in the Country music, Rock & Roll, Songwriter & Granny Hall of Fame. The painting of Jimmie Rodgers is hanging in cyberspace at the Jimmie Rodgers related site at: www.SingingBrakeman.com. It is soon to be displayed at the Official Jimmie Rodger's website and appear on a Jimmie Rodgers Web cast and documentary DVD, and serve as the artwork for a T-shirt to benefit the Jimmie Rodger's Estate.

In 1999, Linda was commissioned to paint Rick Hendrick & Harry Hyde with their car at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Harry Hyde's character was portrayed in the movie Days of Thunder. The original oil is now hanging in the home of Rick Hendrick.s commissioned to paint the art work for a future DVD and for the logo at the DVD Website at www.PioneerTroubadours.com, which contains four great pioneers of the music business and is produced with the blessing of Eric Clapton at his 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival.

In 2006, Linda was asked to paint a personal painting for country legend Merle Haggard for a logo for his ranch in Northern California that is called "The Happy Fish Ranch," and hangs at the home of Mr. Haggard.  Great picture here on the website with her and Merle Haggard when she met him and gave him the original painting.

The Pioneer Troubadours, a web based TV series, commissioned Linda to draw the various legonds of country and rock. Les Paul, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Buck Owens, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Marty Stuart, Sonny Curtis, Buck Page & Norm Stephens. To continue her run of commissioned art for the entertainment business, she has painted a logo for the online music show HOLLYWOOD COUNTY LINE, which is now a cable TV show. The logo of the original painting can be found at www.studioclub.com.

joey cheek

Linda's son, Bryan Anderson is a speedskater with Micheal and Joey Cheek. Joey Cheek is an Olympic medialist and started his first years speed skate training with Bryan. Years later after Joey Cheek placed in the Olympics he stopped by and had is picture taken with his brother, Michael (also a speed skater), and Linda's son Bryan at her home in front of a Mural on Canvas 20 feet by 7 feet tall on Christmas Eve.

Linda is an art teacher and has taught professionally for many years She doesn’t limit her talents to painting, she also creates sculptures, faux finishing and Trompe l oeil.
