My Coleslaw Recipe.

Ingredients
8 cups cabbage
1/4 cup carrots
2 tbs onion
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 cup whole milk
1/2 cup mayo
1 tsp mustard
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup buttermilk
1.5 tbs apple vinegar
2.5 tbs lemon juice

Procedures
chop up the cabbage in pieces of about 1/4 inch squared. Also do that same thing with the onion and carrots, but cut these smaller if possible. A nice mandaline will help at this stage.
Now in a bowl put in the cabbage, carrots, onion, sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayo, buttermilk, apple vinegar, and lemon juice. Mix it up then put it in the refrigerator so that all of the flavors mingle and the acids/salt do their thing. You will notice that it is a bit dry at this point but dont worry a lot of moisture will be extracted in a few hours.

Options
You can replace the vinegar and lemon juice with any acid you want. Pick your favorite vinegar, use orange or lime, etc.
One ingredient I will frequently put in is mustard, but I just put in a little. Along the same lines I will sometimes put in hot sauce to kick it up. I do not put enough in to burn but just enough to make people wonder what it is. Usually it is 2-3 drops of one of my hotter sauces.
If you have an herb garden than you have a lot of flavors to deal with. If you are a tyme freak then you can really go wild. I personally like a little cilantro and a little garlic in mine.
