Colorado Trip (3)
Day 8: After a nice scenic drive over Berthoud Pass we stopped for lunch in Empire. (BTW: this was the 5th different pass and 6th Continental Divide crossing of the trip. We would make 2 more crossings by the end of the trip).

Some shots from the top of the pass, including proof the old Explorer just keeps going and going and going..... (at least when it wants to) Photos by Lara Jones
Kyle, Tracy and Jim arrive from BV after lunch and we head upstream for my Birthday drop. Coor's Falls is on the West Fork of Clear Creek and offers a fun roadside park and huck. We each made several runs over the two-tiered drop until Kyle got a little far right approaching the bottom drop and pitoned underwater shelf on the bank. Ouch!

The next day, Scott, Renee and John Helms joined us on a fun run on the Dumont section of Clear Creek then we all enjoyed a nice camp in the cool crisp mountain air. Time to break out the jackets.
