The Petroleum Profession of the Year for 2008 is being awarded this year to a person who has only been in the mineral industry since 1968 when he was in college. He started his full time mineral career in Evansville, Indiana developing a new surface coal mine, then working for several companies in the southern states developing coal lignite reserves. Returning to the Illinois Basin in 1979 as a Director of Development for a coal company, he entered the petroleum and mineral development when the coal business started to decline in the mid 1980’s and he has been an independent contractor since. His experience has been greatly varied, being not only in petroleum, but coal, limestone, pipelines and natural gas development. Several years ago he founded for the development of Illinois natural resources. A. DALE ANDERON AND ASSOCIATES INC, and is currently the President operating as ADA RESUORCES.
Dale has been married for 42 years to Linda Anderson, A Registered Nurse as Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. They have two children, Quintin Anderson and his family of Redwood City, California and their daughter Maye-Marie and her two sons of Belleville, Illinois.
Dale is a member of the IOGA having served on the board of directors; the AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL LANDMEN, where he served as a director for the Illinois region and has been a Certified Professional Landman since 1981 and an Environemental Site Assessor since 1992 ; the ENERGY MINERAL LAW FOUNDATION and the INTERNATIONAL RIGHT OF WAY ASSOCIATION.
