[Goddess of Steel Favor] [Detail]

This lace favor required 54 bobbins and was worked as a continuous piece.  The "gimp" or decorative braid required six, and was made prior to starting the main project.  This pattern is my own design, the main body of the work is 50/2 linen, the blade is DMC silver floss and the gimp braid is green silk thread and Krenik Balger Metallic.  The blade is worked in a combination of whole (cloth) stitch and twisted whole stitch; the hilt is worked in half stitch--all on Torchon ground.

working on the favor This bookmark favor is made of linen thread. The black thread is Irish linen 20/2; the green is French linen 35/2 and the natural linen ground and acorn is also Irish linen 60/2. The piece required from 24 to 28 bobbins to complete. Unfortunately, I no longer have a picture of the completed project.
