Description

Migration Era Viking Dagger

The blade on this one was made to have a different pattern on each side (twist interrupt offset). Where there are straight sections on one side, the opposite side is twisted. Each of the four core bars contain 9 layers of C1095 and 15N20 and the edging is 153 layers of C1095 and 15N20.

The main guard and rear guard are high density straight laminate Copper and Nickel Silver Mokume with Beng Burl spacers. The Pommel is straight laminate Copper and Nickel Silver Mokume. The ferrules are an elongated twist Mokume and the grip is also Beng Burl.

14.5 inch blade and an over all length of almost 22 inches.

Cable and Jade Fighter

This is a Cable Damascus Sub-Hilt Fighter with straight laminate copper and nickel silver mokume fittings.

The handle sections are made from genuine Green Jade.

7.5 inch blade length and an over all length of 12 inches.

San Mai Fighter

The blade is 6 layers of 1095 and 15N20.  Not layered alternately but instead two pieces of 1095 on either side of two pieces of 15N20 as to sandwich the 15N20 in the middle.

The blade is about 7.5 inches long at just under 3/16 thick and overall length of about 12 inches.  Single twist damascus guard, African Blackwood spacer/ferrule and Beng Burl handle.

She is differentially heat treated so the blade has alot going on in it for being a very simple pattern weld.  It has the San Mai look plus some extra layers and a temper line.

Damascus Letter Opener

These little letter openers are made from C1095 and 15N20 tool steel. The pattern is called twist interrupt.

At the widest point, the blade measures 1.0 inch. Handle material is Amboyna Burl and are attached with hidden pins.

These make great gifts, especially when matched with a Damascus pen!

1095 Hunter

This nice 1095 high carbon steel hunter/skinner is dressed in Amboyna Burl with brass pins

and is a great performer.

The blade is about 4 inches long and the knife is about 8 inches overall.

The knife is differentially heat treated and is honed to a

"hair popping" sharp edge.

Damascus Hunter

Similar to the Bama Special but I further manipulated the Damascus to get more nickel stripes to show. It ends up having 311 layers of C1095, 15N20, and pure nickel.

The handle pins are Mosaic Pins and the tang is fully tapered. Beng Burl scales.

The blade is about 4 inches long and the knife is about 8 inches overall.

Bama Special

Similar to Grandpa's Hunter but I added some pure nickel to the mix. It ends up having 311 layers of C1095, 15N20, and pure nickel.

The handle pins are copper/nickel silver mokume and the tang is fully tapered. Amboyna Burl scales.

The blade is about 4 inches long and the knife is about 8 inches overall.

Grandpa's Hunter

This blade has a single star twist pattern using C1095 and 15N20 tool steel.

The handle material is presentation grade Amboyna Burl with Mosaic Pins.

The blade is about 4 inches long and the knife is about 8 inches overall.

Turkish Twist Dagger

The Blade on this dagger is a six bar Persian/Turkish twist pattern made out of high carbon Damascus steel.

The pattern is developed by individually twisting each bar and then forge welding them together to form the blade.  This particular example has six bars in the blade.  The handle is wrapped with phosphor bronze and iron wire with phosphor bronze ferrules. The guard and pommel are fire colored steel.

The Blade is 10 inches long and has an over all length of 15 inches.

I can do just about any Damascus pattern you wish.
