My latest amusement vehicle is to post
messages on Craig’s List mainly for the entertainment value. Recently I posted in M4W “Seeking my Soul mate”
and describing things I love and hate.
It got a lot of responses. This
response is a classic (sender’s name withheld)

Mexican immigrants. Let me ask you: If
Bush signed a law granting everyone amnesty and opening the border to all who
would come peacefully and agree to meet certain conditions, would you still be
against them? If so, then one may
conclude that your opposition to illegal’s
(sic) has less to do with their legal status, and more to do with your dislike
of them in general. I think they have a name for that now.
We must have immigrants, lots of
them legal or illegal and we’re lucky to be getting Mexicans. It could be
worse, it could be Europeans. Just ask
the Native Americans.

European immigrants have done with Social Security?
It was recognized some time ago that since the
population was getting older, there wouldn’t be enough young workers to pay us
our Social Security benefits in this pay-as-you-go system. So years ago they raised the Social Security
taxes such that the taxes coming in were more than the expenses. The intent was to save our own money for our
future. .By now we would have had over $1.6 Trillion in the bank. So far so good.
Well here’s what happened. The illegal European immigrants didn’t save
or invest the money as intended; instead they spent it all leaving us worse off
than ever. Not only are we still facing
the same problem as before, we’re also out of time to fix it. The only way out
of this mess is immigrants and lots of them.
But instead of just doing nothing like we are doing now, lets welcome
them in but do it in a way that is to our advantage. Make them pay for becoming a citizen. It’s a good deal for both.

Bill Clinton Was Innocent!

That’s right; I’m looking at a couple of days off minimum. I dropped a friend off at the airport today before I went in to work, strategically timing my arrival just minutes before 11:30 so I could get some email out and proving I was there before lunch, then headed straight to the cafeteria. I took the meal back to my desk to give the appearance that I was working through lunch.. I was just about to doze off when I was awakened by Carolyn who was dumping off a background investigator. I met with him and said all the right things and went back to dozing. At 2:00 I went to the Road to First Flight meeting. I went through the motions and suddenly grew fatigued. As the meeting ended I announced I was exhausted and went home. What a day!
Anyway I was on the phone talking to a friend and I heard myself sounding like Bill Clinton and it reminded me of my 180 on Bill. I remember during the whole fiasco thinking Bill was guilty but you know what? I finally realized he was innocent. The Paula Jones Case should have been thrown out of court because it had no merit. None of his alleged actions, even if true, constitute sexual harassment. Why? Because the word harassment means doing something offensive repeatedly to the same person. If you only do it once it isn’t harassment. And if that isn’t enough, how about this?
Even if he did everything alleged, he had every right to do so because he was off the clock in his hotel room. HIS HOTEL ROOM, where he can strip naked and run around and ask anyone there if they want to kiss it, and as long as he doesn’t force anyone to do anything or force them to stay, then he has broken no law.
If he has, you better send around the squad car because I’m guilty too!
