Removal of floor

I removed as much of the old floor as I could by using my hands and a pry bar, then out came the grinder.  Fiberglass dust is quite itchy, especially on 90 degree summer days.  But over the course of a few afternoons, I had the floor completely removed.

A good start

Those back corners required a lot of grinding in a tight dirty place.

Floor and stringers removed.

Note: On this model, the stringers were 1”x12” pieces of untreated Douglas Fir, and per Larson Boats were used to support the floor while it was being glassed in.  Regardless, they were replaced.

Also, a lot of grinding was needed in the front.  Don’t worry, everything was cleaned out well before the new floor went in.
