Once a Badger, always a Badger

Occasionally we need to remind ourselves that the years we spent at "UW" were pretty great and the springboard for where we are today. To stay in touch with your BADGER roots, why not become a member of your local UW Alumni Club. This local membership makes you part of the Rochester UW Alumni Club that focuses its projects and activities in Rochester and the surrounding SE MN area.

Membership offers you the opportunity to support and/or participate in these activities:

• Recognize outstanding local high school graduates planning to attend UW Madison with scholarships.
• Promote UW Madison by volunteering at local high school events and by participating in local Service organizations to help their fundraising and community service efforts.
• Enjoy great Wisconsin athletic teams by offering our members information and tickets to selected Badger sporting events.
• Provide social opportunities for our local alums to meet and cheer for the Badgers.

We have around 550 UW Madison graduates in our immediate Rochester area and over 1000 in SE Minnesota. About 100 are active members in our Alumni Club and 20 are on our board of directors. In any one year, most of these people participate in some Alumni Club function or activity. Participation in local service organizations includes Ronald McDonalds Kidsfest and Christmas Anonymous. Our scholarship program has grown to ten $800 scholarship awards to applicants from the eight high schools in Rochester and the surrounding area. We support Wisconsin football, basketball and hockey both in the Twin Cities and in Madison. And, we have a number of social activities each year beyond our traditional Founders Day event in May. We look forward to more of you keeping your Badger roots alive by becoming members of your local UW Alumni Club.
