WAA Honors Meyer The Sparkplug Award is the highest honor bestowed on a University of Wisconsin volunteer for outstanding leadership at the alumni club level. All recipients have given exceptional service to our university and its alumni relations program through active participation in club activities in their local areas. Gerry Meyer '65, MS '67 received a 2001 Sparkplug Award at the Rochester Founders Day dinner. Meyer, who has been active with the chapter for a number of years, was instrumental in building a scholarship program that has sent dozens of well-qualified students to UW-Madison. With his guidance, local scholarship contributions have tripled.
