LEE STOGNER, PMP

Delegate-Elect / Director - Elect  2008-2009
Delegate / Director  2010-2011

"With your support, we can continue to build the IEEE Network in Region 3 and make a difference in the lives of our fellow Members"

               Networking 101 Presentation

Lee Stogner received the BSEE from Clemson University and the Master of Engineering from the University of South Carolina. Lee is the Chair of the South Carolina Engineering Cluster that promotes the state's engineering industry. Lee has over 30 years of design, consulting and project management experience across a range of industries. Throughout his working career, Lee has been active in both local and national IEEE activities. A key goal of his IEEE work has been to promote Professional Activities as an important part of an engineer's life long career. Lee has also been active in promoting the use of the Internet by engineers through his presentations and short courses. He is a past IEEE-USA Vice President for Professional Activities and a past President of the South Carolina Council of Engineering Societies. Lee is also certified in Project Management by the Project Management Institute.

I want each and every Region 3 Member to know that the IEEE is much more than magazines, books and conferences. It is a Network of people with common interests, needs and goals.

I have a long background in developing Professional Activities. Through the Professional Activity programs that I developed for Region 3 and IEEE-USA, many IEEE Members have the soft skills that help distinguish and expand their careers.

I have also been active in developing Employment Assistance programs. One of my projects has been the development of the Region 3 Employment Assistance web site that has become a model for other IEEE Regions.

At the state level, I am the Chair of the SC Engineering Cluster. This cluster has been developed to promote South Carolina's engineering industry to customers around the world.

At the national level, I am part of an effort to connect IEEE Members with their elected Representatives. There are many national issues that affect IEEE Members and I want our Representatives to know that we want a part in these important discussions.

At the world level, I have been leading IEEE's Grass Roots efforts to promote membership growth at the student and higher grade levels.

With your support, we can continue to build the IEEE Network in Region 3 and make a difference in the lives of our fellow Members.
