I have to admit, the main reason I put up this web page is because I got a digital camera to take some before and after pics.    I wish now that I had one when I started my new way of life, but it just didn't work out that way.    Well, I have it now, and it's time to show the world how I'm doing!       I'm grouping the pics by date.    Click on a thumbnail to go to link of the full sized picture.   I am putting the newer shots above the older ones.    If you want to see how looked before, scroll down!

I wanted to take a round of shots when I just hit the "Not Obese" mark by BMI (a BMI of 30 or more is considered Obese).   For me, that means anything under 175 pounds.    I weighed myself a couple of minutes before these were taken, and I was at 172 (except, of course, for the bonus anniversary pic).    So in all except the last pic, I am officially Not Obese in this round.    I know that I'm repeating myself a bit.    I just LOVE typing "I was not obese in these pictures!". I could do it over and over again, but I'll spare everyone and shut about that now.    Bruce was on the railing for the entire shoot.    He's got supermodel aspirations as well, what can I say.    Next round of shots projected for when I get into the low 160's.

Weight: 183 Pounds

These shots were taken as sort of a spur of the moment thing.    I had just had my lowest weigh in ever, 183.    And I was getting ready to start my vacation, when I was pretty sure I would be packing on a couple of pounds.    I figured it was either take the shots then, or wait quite a while before it made sense to do so again.    Plus, I used a web BMI calculator to figure out that when I hit 175 I will no longer be officially obese, and I want to take a series of shots about the time that happens.    But it doesn't make alot of sense to me to put up another round after only a five pound loss.

I decided to cut my hair a while back; I'll be letting it grow back some.    And now I have contact lenses.    Since I've lost this much weight, I've started feeling that maybe trying to upgrade my appearance isn't a lost cause.       Just in case anyone wonders; I am wearing a bra in every shot.   It was a fairly cool morning when we took these; my husband commented on the fact that this is apparent in my chest region.    And finally, I'd like to note that for some reason, my husband held the camera at a slight tilt, making it look in some shots that I'm leaning backwards.    So no, I don't have very odd posture.    Just a somewhat odd photographer.

Weight: 200 Pounds

Ok, I'm kinda cheating by taking and showing these photos now.    Yes, when I woke up this morning my scale did indeed read 200 pounds, so in that sense it's cool.    However, I usually weigh as my lightest on Saturday mornings, when I've slept in for a while.    I take Friday's weigh in as my "official" weight for the week, and by that measure I'm at 202 pounds.    So why the rush to do these?    Because it's coming up on the end of November in Missouri, that's why.    I want to do all my fashion poses on my deck for consistencies sake.    Problem is, it's getting less and less pleasant to stand out on my deck the deeper into winter that we get.    The Awful Blue dress might be born of the fires of hell, but it sure isn't all that warming to wear.    So, this morning, I wake up, find I'm at the 200 pound mark, find out that it's a fairly mild day (maybe our last one!) and decide to just go for it.    Also, my hair is the same color as before, it just looks darker because it's wet.    Hubby got up just after I took my shower, and we were losing light fast.    Yet another "Let's just *do* it!" moment in action!
