SSRI's are a class of drugs called
selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. SRRI's affects chemicals in the brain
that may become unbalanced and cause depression, panic or anxiety, or obsessive
or compulsive symptoms. SRRI's are used to treat depression,
obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder,
social anxiety disorder (social phobia), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD),
and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). SRRI's may also be used for purposes

blocking the action of a chemical substance known as monoamine oxidase
inhibitors (MAOI) in the nervous system.
