This photo of the top of the hill was taken along the road from Saint-Georges-d'Elle to Cloville in front of the farmer at "La Carosserie" where two American tanks were destroyed.

Colleville and Tank
The two last photos of Colleville.The legend says: one of the five DD tanks of the 741st Tank Battalion, which made it to shore, in the main street of Colleville-sur-Mer. Launched too far from the coast (4000 yards) 27 out of 32 of these amphibious tanks sank.
