Checking

The BasicBooks General Ledger does not write checks. The Check Journal Entry function is used to record and process the data from checks you have written manually or through another program. (If you are using the BasicBooks Accounts Payable system to write checks those checks will be automatically posted either to the Check Journal or General Journal.) After you have manually written checks they must then be entered into the Check Journal and charged to the correct accounts.
