Backing up your database is an absolute must. If you do not make regular back ups and you lose your disk, or some other event causes you to corrupt or lose all your data, there is no help for you. You are simply, sunk! The rule for when to make a backup is this, ``Whenever you have input data that you don't want to lose, or don't want to have to input again, make a backup''.
Using the BasicBooks General Ledger Backup function will include all files for the compnay in the backup - including subsidiary ledgers such as Accounts Payable and any other BasicBooks modules you are using.

When the Data Base Backup window appears follow the instructions on the screen to make your backup. Use whatever name you wish for the backup file as long as it does not exceed 20 characters. Since the backup is stored in your current working directory (folder) it is a good idea to copy the backup file to some off-line media (e.g., CD, DVD, diskette, or tape) to prevent loss of the backup file if your disk is compromised.
