Upon graduation from Dadeville High School in 1968, I attended Auburn University and received my education degree in 1971 and master’s degree in 1976. I find satisfaction and inspiration for my life through my faith and family.  The forever love and support of family began with my high school sweetheart and husband of 40 years, James, and has grown through the years with the gifts of our two wonderful sons and four precious granddaughters.  My love and devotion to family and teaching says it all—I am truly blessed! 

As a creative teacher who enjoys a very active learning environment, I know teachers are obsessed with the values of quality literature for use within the classroom.  Quality literature can enhance a teacher’s required classroom lessons as well as extend students’ interest and quest for knowledge.  A Reading, Writing, and Learning connection is easily made using the quality literature pulled from your libraries and classrooms. The adventures, joys, and overwhelming love of reading motivates my writings and offers perpetual teaching opportunities for achieving my foremost objective:

To inspire lifelong readers & learners!

And hopefully to instill a bit of life’s good character lessons along the way!
