Milton was incorporated on December 23, 1796.
Today, folks are coming from all around the country to shop at antique shops, drygoods stores and craft markets, as well as see the restoration in progress of the Thomas Day House. Some shops are located in the "Shoppes of Milton," restored from a time when buggies and wagons lined the streets. The Milton General Store features a fascinating array of old treasures. In the diner at Milton Tire Co. you can enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, bar-b-que, a bowl of fresh-made soup, or the day's blue plate special while your car is serviced. There's always a real good chance you'll catch up on the latest local news, too. Aunt Millie's Pizza is open serving fresh baked pizza and subs with a large selection of ice-cold beers and hand dipped ice cream. Milton Studio Art Gallery is now open at 237 Broad Street. Shirley, Mimi, and Chrystal invite you to visit and see their original works. The Gallery is open Saturdays from 11 - 5,Sundays from 1 - 5, and by appointment. Special events are also planned
