Hannibal and Northeast Missouri

Missouri

I took my first trip to NE Missouri in mid-April, 1999.

I'm a big fan of south central MO; that whole corridor along I-44 between St. Clair and Waynesville or so.

But NE Missouri, the home of Mark Twain, riverboat heritage, and other attractions was unvisited by me until now.

I need to go back.  Both Hannibal and Louisiana are incredibly interesting to explore.  For the motorcyclist, the stretch of MO 79 from Hannibal to Louisiana is a blast: forests, hills, wonderful sweeping curves.

There will be more of this.  For now, just a few photos.

Lovers Leap in Hannibal
Lover's Leap, just outside Hannibal.  Kind of a grey day for scenery...still pretty, tho.

Hannibal and US36
Looking north, towards Hannibal.  That's US36 going across the Mississippi to Illinois
