Johann Ferdinand BUCHHOLZ emigrated to the United States from Lebus, Prussia in 1868. He travelled with his brother, Wilhelm. Reportedly worked in Chicago before migrating to Cuming County, Nebraska. Worked as a laborer to build the Cuming County Courthouse, then walked to Colfax County to assist in building the County Courthouse in Schuyler, Nebraska. Homesteaded in Cuming County, west of Bancroft Nebraska.

With some degree of confidence, our family descendacy is from Reuben TERRILL. In 1850, Reuben was married to Eliza Winslow PARKER in Kentucky. Also lived in Boone County, Kentucky. Son Arthur was in the 5th Kentucky Cavalry, CSA and rode with General Morgan in the Ohio Raid. Captured and confined at Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois.
