In 1992 I attended a political rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where I was in the crowd just behind Bill Clinton. The photo below that appeared in the Cedar Rapids Gazette motivated my painting. However,I changed most of the original faces to be those of relatives and friends.
This couple came from my imagination.
This picture is based on a photograph that I took at Columbus Circle in New York City.
