In 2006 NGSS entered into a major program with Chrysler to implement a Green facilities initiative in their headquarters and development facilities around the country, allowing Chrysler facilities to “Do More…With Less” while providing superior “green” products at a substantial cost savings. In this program with our environmental engineers and suppliers we developed custom developed high-tech chemical dispensing systems for “Green” chemicals that reduce chemical costs over 22%, we reduced other product costs by 28%, while at the same time improved equipment utilization for a projected equipment cost savings exceed 30%. The program also included waterless urinals, waste heat recovery, GEM steam traps, induction lighting systems, and organic plant nutrition fertilizers for landscaping. Ultimately, this program developed into Chrysler earning 36 points to date toward LEED-EB certification of its 5.5 million square foot Headquarters facility.
In 2007 the business NGSS became the sourcing, buying and logistics management arm for the Trust for Sustainable Development providing materials management services to construction of the 6,000 home Loreto Bay Development in Baja California on the Sea of Cortez. The Trust was committed to creating green and sustainable community. NGSS sourced the materials, procured them, manage the logistics, warehoused them at our warehouse in Loreto Bay, and then staged them to the sites as required for the build plan. Today we have expanded that offering to other custom home, retail and commercial builders.
