Chad begin his football career in 1989 playing for the training league team the Falcons. After his second year with the Falcons, Chad moved up to the Grasscutter Division where as a 8 year old he immediately stepped in as the Steelers Quarterback. As Quarterback Chad won two league titles and three Super Bowl Championships. In 1994 Chad moved up to the Raiders and Continued his success. Chad again led his team on offense at Quarterback and on Defense at Inside Linebacker. That Year Chad led his team to an undefeated and an un-scored on season where the Raiders out-scored their opponents 433-0.
All of these men represent the West Elementary jurisdiction of the LYFA. Chad's father Terry played for the Raiders in 1976. Terry was a Falcon assistant coach in 1989. In 1990 Terry became the Falcons head coach and remains in that position to this day. Chuck Proffitt, Chad's position coach, played for the Steelers in 1979-80, and the Raiders in 1981-82. Chuck went on to be a stand out at Morristown West and received a football scholarship from Carson-Newman College. Chuck, the Trojans Defensive Back Coach is a Carson-Newman graduate and one of the most respected coaches on the Morristown West staff. David Garrett coached Chad as a Steeler assistant in 1991-93, and later became Chad's coach again with the Raiders in 1995.
