Digital Images

Who said photographing had to be hard?  Well, they were wrong!

New play toy ---->  a digital!  :)

So, sit back, let the images load and see what one of these babies can do.

Each one is a thumbnail so, click on it to see the full size picture.

I have to admit to being impressed with a digital's clarity and hmm,

you just cant fault the simplicity of a point & shoot camera.

Now, the question is:  will this replace my Pentax?  Nah...  but I've sure had

lots of fun with it!  And just in case you're curious, the digital used is a

Kodak DC-215, a middle of the road priced camera but does

a great job all the same  :)

  Mt. Mitchell

This one will most certainly, not be appreciated by all eyes.  It was taken from inside the observation tower right before going out the door.  Something about the eerie view just seemed to appeal to me

 Mingus Mill

Located not too far from Cherokee, NC.  Like so many beautiful sights, pictures just doesn't seem to do it justice.

The Catawba River

I often take this way home... what I call the "scenic route"  :)  Always without fail, after each rain you'll find an enchanting mist much
like the one you see here.

Fourth of July Y2K

If I had to make a guess, I'd say this was probably my most unusual shot and one I really like.  Yep, I do admit to getting this one, just plain lucky  :)

Sunset Kissed by
the Clouds

This was another of those made on my way home. I wonder what the neighbors think of me by now as I pull off the side of the highway?  :)

A Double Rainbow

Ah, now this one....  the rainbows above were left over from a
terrible summer storm and I spotted it yep, coming home.  I could never find
one of those perfect spots from the highway so, I choose instead, a driveway.
Did I know the people who resided here?  Noooooo, I didn't  :)
But that didn't stop me!  How often are you given a sight such as this?
As luck would have it, no one was home and still I trekked up the steep drive
and walked into their backyard.  I was pleasantly surprised to find a bonus of the barn
seemingly placed in just the right place.  So, I took my photos and sheepishly
made my way back to the car, all the while deciding my "story" should
I need to come up with one real fast!

After several years of using the DC-215. and over 5000 pictures later, I had to replace it.  With yes, another Kodak (CX6330) because I had such good luck with the other one.  It does even a better job. The pictures below were made with the "new" one.  And yes, digital did eventually replace the Pentax.  Even tho, that camera is still with me.  It's too much a part of me to ever rid myself of it!  At some point, I will break the bank and purchase a much wanted SLR digital.  That way I can use all those lenses I've got packed away.  Can't wait!!
