Born in Madison, Evelyn ("Evie") attended Emerson Elementary, Madison East High School and the University of Wisconsin.
Evie's earlier careers have included secretarial positions with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, a private Madison law firm, and the Adult Christian Educational Foundation (Bethel Series). In 1968, she began an 18-year career in the Wisconsin State Senate, achieving an LA-4 ranking, with duties as Legislative Aide, Committee Analyst and Office Administrator. In 1986, Evie and her husband moved to Spring Hill, Florida, where she worked as a closing agent for a title insurance company. She also wrote articles for The Tampa Tribune covering activities of a number of groups and organizations in the Hernando County area. Moving back to Madison in 1992, Evie obtained her present position with our firm and, though "retired," remains actively employed here.
Evie has extensive
experience participating in local organizations. She has volunteered with
the Girl Scouts, various political groups, Bashford United Methodist Church,
the Food Pantry, the Homeless Shelter, and area hospitals. She has also served
as a lay member to regional church conferences. Evie's love of travel has
taken her twice to Hawaii, as well as to England, France, Scotland, Ireland,
Israel and Egypt.
