Book of the week for adult readers:
"En el tiempo de las mariposas"

In the Time of the Butterflies, by Julia Alvarez (Dominican writer). Originally written in English, translated to Spanish. Set during the waning days of the Trujillo dictatorship in the Dominican Republic in 1960. The novel tells the story of the Mirabal sisters, three young women who are assassinated after visiting their jailed husbands. An inspired portrait that "conveys (the sisters) courage and their desperation, and the full import of their tragedy". (Publishers Weekly).

Book of the week for young readers: "Chatos Kitchen" By Gary Soto.

Written in English with Spanish interwoven words or in a Spanish version. Chato the cat, after seeing his new neighbors, a mice family, plans a big "fiesta" dinner. Guess who, he thinks will be his dinner? But plans not always go the way we planned.
