Objective: To present information about yourself in basic, written format in Spanish

Task: You will write a clear, creative narrative to describe yourself to accompany your digital photo.

Requirements:

1. Creatively incorporate all of the vocabulary and grammatical structures your have learned since beginning as a Spanish speaker this year.

2. Completely describe yourself by including your following personal information:

~ Introduce yourself with basic statistics: name, age, occupation, and nationality, where you live…

~ Family information: with whom do you live, siblings, and pets (optional: extended family members), where is your house, what does it look like; what activities do you and your family members do together (or individually)

~ Physical description

~ Personality description

~ Activities you enjoy doing / not doing (with whom, when, where….)

~ School subjects you are studying, at what times, which you like / don't like, who your teachers are, materials you need for school, when you do your homework, with whom do you study….

~ Hobbies / free time activities: after school, on the weekends…

3. Include key verbs and verb expressions: 1. estar, 2. ir a + location / + infinitive, 3. a mí me gusta + infinitive / encanta +infinitive, 4. necesito + infinitive, 5. quiero + infinitive, 6. –ar,-er,-ir, verbs.

4. You must include a minimum of 20 complete sentences in Spanish.

5. Type your final draft on the computer, attach your photograph.

6.Your rough draft must be done in class. No exceptions. Final copy from the first part must be turned in no later than ___________ and by _______________ the second part should be added to the first part.

No late essays will be accepted.

Use the following questions to assist you in creating your narrative about yourself.

Then, rearrange your answers into a sensible order for each of your paragraphs (See student's sample)

8. ¿Cómo es el vecindario (the neighborhood), qué hay cerca, lejos de tu casa? (el supermercado, la farmacia, el correo/post office, etc..)

9. ¿Quiénes viven en tu casa contigo (with you)? (mamá, papá, hermanos, abuelos…)

10. ¿Cómo es tu mamá/papá/hermana/hermano/perro/gato….? (Describe 2-5 members of your family or pets. At least 3 sentences with "es" and 3 sentences with "tiene" for each one of them)

11. ¿Qué hacen tu familia y tú juntos (together) los fines de semana o durante las vacaciones? (3-5 frases)
