Gordon MacRae Letterbox Lincoln, NE (Lancaster County) “Gordon will always be remembered where ever beautiful music is heard.” ~Ronald Reagan Although Gordon MacRae was successful on radio, in records, on the silver screen and on Broadway he is best remembered for two movie rolls, Curly in Rogers and Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA (1955) and as Billy Bigelow in Rogers and Hammerstein’s Carousel (1956). In 1986 he lost his battle with jaw cancer. Directions: Go to 3600 “O” Street. Enter Wyuka Cemetery. Follow the path leading to the right. Keep the black iron fence to your right. Go to tour stop 8 on section 4. Here you will find the grave of Gordon MacRae. Continue on the path following the arrows. Pass the Fire fighter memorial, the 9/11 memorial, several war memorials, At tour stop 19 bear right, Follow arrows to section 22. Bear right and continue straight to a section called “Babyland”. With Babyland to your left, and section 29 behind you, you will spy a drain pipe directly in front of you. Behind the pipe are two rows of evergreens. Walk to the backside with the of the evergreens on the right. There will be young oak trees to your right. Under a low lying tree branch on the second or third tree you will find the treasure.
