Hum A Tune

Hampton, CT
Planted by Irish Tinker
This box is a thank you / birthday gift for Chickabirdie!
Thank you for all your hard work on my web site!!! You are a treasure!

From Rte 6 in Hampton take Rte 97. Follow through the village and continue straight. Turn left onto Kenyon Rd. There will be a brown sign for the reservoir. The road serpentines. Keep your eyes open for a little red chapel to the right with stain glass windows. This must be the first chapel for Hampton, right? Wrong! This little building was actually the freight building for the Hampton Rail a few miles away and was later moved to this location. It is currently an art studio for a political cartoonist. Keep going until you see another brown reservoir sign. Turn left at the sign. Pull into the parking area.

Do you hear someone humming? Take the wood trail on the right. Keeping the water on your left follow straight. You will pass a wood-pecker tree on your left, and soon you will see a large stump to your left. Take 17 paces on the path to a tree that looks like an elephant’s leg & foot. The humming is getting louder. Turn right and take 17 paces to a stone wall. Tucked low under the rock on the end find your treasure.

Before you set out, please read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
