Now where did I leave that tip-up?      Mark E. Smathers is a lifelong resident of Michigan and was graduated from Michigan State University. Mark graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cooley Law School which he attended while working full time.
     While at Cooley he earned American Jurisprudence Awards in Contracts, Family Law and Professional Responsibility (Legal Ethics). He also earned Certificate of Merit Awards in Advocacy, Employment Security Law and Scholarly Writing, and served on the Cooley Law Review.
     Mark practices law in the areas of real estate, contract law, probate matters, estate planning, municipal law, and others, including eldercare. Mark is an assistant Wexford County Prosecutor. Mark has performed pro bono legal services for CASA, and the CASA-WISE Sports Park Committee. He has also been a volunteer with the Cadillac Area Public Schools and the Wexford County Economic Development Corporation. Mark served on the executive board of the Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxilliary.
     Mark is married to Mary, a Housing Agent for the State of Michigan, and they have a son, Nathan, a high school english teacher in Ecorse, Michigan.

Here is a picture of Gordie Howe scoring his 500th goal. Thats Gump Worsley in net, Gordie scored more goals against the Gumper than against any other goalie.
