CME SEMINARS

Some of the subject which I presently lecture on are:

  • Pressure Points
  • Poison Hands
  • The meaning of Forms and Katas.
  • Advanced Fighting Techniques levels I, II, and III (mats are required for AFT level 3)
  • Quan Li K'an techniques (primarily a seminar on Quan Li K'an Sub style techniques, Tiger, Crane, Dragon, Mouse, and Snake)
  • Tai Chi...contact me about specifics
  • Efficiency Improvement
  • Healing Arts - ANMO YAO (frequently called Shiatsu) levels I, II, III and IV
  • Secrets of Street Combat
  • Plus several specific topics which I will ONLY work in a closed seminar ....contact me about these topics...

  1. I ONLY teach what I can prove. Not things which I claim work because I say so, but because I have medical papers (from prestigious medical centers & textbooks) and proven principles of physiology and/or physics to back up what I say. Since I practice Medicine professionally (as a Nationally certified Physician Assistant and also as a professional martial artist, I deal with these principles everyday). I also encourage people to seek out the references I use and not only check up on what I say but to take the information the next step.

  2. I do not demonstrate Knockouts. I will discuss how and why they work and the medical princip. But because ALL knockouts cause a degree of brain damage, I cannot in good conscience demonstrate something which I know will cause permanent damage for just the sake of money. The book I wrote on knockouts give very detailed instructions should you need to use such. I will answer questions though. Just do not expect a knockout demonstration.

  3. I primarily present material in lecture format, but my seminars are primarily hands on. Therefore, while it is not an absolute contraindication, I really do not like to have more than 40 to 50 people at a seminar unless arrangements are made for me to have some help teaching (one of my students). The purpose of this is mostly because I want the people at the seminars to really understand what I am teaching and to feel they really did get their moneys worth. Therefore, please contact me if you plan to have over 50 people and we can work something out. (I can arrange for one of my senior students to help or we can work out other arrangements)

  4. I do not try to convert anyone to my style. What I teach are principles which will work in any style: Chinese, Korean, Okinawan and American. I teach enough hands on so you really understand what I mean and then let you take it back and enhance the style you are already doing.

  5. I teach street rather than a tournament concepts. This means that much of what I teach would not be allowed in tournaments (examples; pressure points, poison hands techniques, launch point throws, etc.). I believe that martial arts is an art and a science, not a sport. If someone can gain from a tournament, then so be it. But in all fairness, that is not the format I teach from.

COSTS:

If you are interested in working with some of my senior students who are interested in getting some experience in the senminar world

My students will work for the cost of getting to the Seminar meals and lodging .... They will NOT teach Knockout nor Tia Chi seminars ..Please send me an email for the details to arrange these seminars

Personally (if you need me to put on the seminar contact me ... but generally )

I work on a fixed fee schedule. I have found from experience that it is actually easier and clearer for both of us.

The cost for a 2 to 4 hour seminar is $250.00 plus ALL expenses. However, because I realize this makes it expensive for many organizations to afford a seminar, I am willing to combined seminars in the same weekend, (same day morning & afternoon sessions are possible), for an additional $150.00 EACH This would make the price $400.00 for two seminars plus expenses. A third seminar would be and additional $100.00. (total $500.00) ALL Fees are in US currency. For multiple seminars contact me about discounts.

The schedule of booking being what it is, I require those who wish to book a seminar to send me a check for half of the amount a minimum of 2 months before the seminar date. (If scheduling conflicts occur, the deposit for seminars is refundable up to two months before the seminar is scheduled). One month before the seminar date I need to get the airline ticket. The balance of the seminar fee is due when I arrive on location. NOTE: I can help provide proof pictures for ads if you need them.

Sales of books and tapes can be negotiated.

Seminars are available on a LIMITED basis! If you are interested please contact me early!!!
