So, I write stuff. When I'm bored, or happy, or sad, or excited, or just about anytime with any provocation. Lately I've been working on fantasy/ghost stories, mostly because I've never done it before. My first story, "Charlie", (which was published in the Mensa Magazine) was more or less a throwaway - it was a written-down version of an anecdote I often tell around Halloween. I don't really like it (it tells better than it reads), but since it's the only thing I've had published, I have to include it! My second effort, "Laundry", did not deliver on the premise very successfully, so it's kind of a pretentious little story, that I'm hoping to be able to re-work into something viable at some point. "A Small Sideways Step" is based on a dream I had. I'm much happier with it than with the other two - I think I managed to get down what I wanted to convey and that it's a fun read. "The Shortest Story" speaks for itself. "Gifted" is non-fiction, the first in a series of essays I wrote about my childhood and my family. The others will follow soon.
