Sing, move, dance and play! Re-discover the traditional music materials, and understand their essential place in a Montessori classroom.
Enrich your classes with vibrant cultural content and genuine Montessori Music. Experience interactive, co-operative music and movement games, traditional singing games, contra dances and international folk dances. Learn to use the Montessori Music Materials, including The Montessori Bells, Tone Bars ("The Great Transposers", as Maria Montessori called them), The Green Boards, and rhythmic notation materials. Basic music theory is simply explained. Begin building a repertoire of excellent, exciting and authentic children's rhymes, songs, games, and dances. CD's of music for children, including pieces covered in the workshops, are available.
In the past, making music together was a normal part of life. This is a treasure we have lost and need to recover. It offers us an opportunity to share joy, sorrow, wonder, hilarity, the passing seasons, and our essential human connectedness.
