This deserves a bit longer write up because you don't see many sports figures, these days, speaking out on political issues and sticking up for what they believe in. Jocks for justice, as it were. The big money sponsoring corporations who they work for don't like it. Adonal Foyle is an exception. The 29 year-old, 6-feet ten-inch center for the NBA's GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS started this site to educate young people about politics, mobilize them to vote and bring pressure on elected officials to reform the nation's campaign finance laws. When he's not playing basketball, Foyle is speaking at high schools, colleges, and conferences about the corrupting role and influence of big money in the political system. Hat's off to him!

There should be MANY monuments erected to this man for articulating one of THE single MOST important ideas in mankind's history! Dare I say what has become more and more a "bad word" in some circles?!...

* NO! He DID NOT recant Evolution on his death bed! That's a lie perpetrated and circulated by the evangelical fundamentalist movement (thanks to one named "LADY HOPE") at the time of Darwin's demise, and continues to make the rounds today. Darwin's daughter Henrietta, comforted him and was there by his side in his last hours. No recanting, refuting, rebuking, retracting, or rejection of any kind about evolution took place.
*Myth: C D refuted etc., The Lady Hope Story: A Widespread Falsehood, and here we even have a religious site dubbing the story BS (Go figure! They got the facts right... except for the ending where the pastor states "Christians have enough scientific evidence for creation and against evolution without resorting to stories which can not be verified!"
